Cultivation Advice for Cluster Beans (Guar)

The officials of University of Faisalabad, advise the farmers to avoid pesticide sprayed cluster bean (guar) crop.

Guar crop can be cultivated for foddar purpose from the  end of  april to the start of July. However if the purpose is just to have green manure then one can cultivate it even in May. for the purpose of seed the ideal time of cultivation is first half of July.

For the purpose of foddar , farmers should use 20-25 kg of seed per acre while for seed purpose 12-15 kg is enough. And they must be sow in the lines 1 ft apart.

The recommended varities of Cluster Beans in Pakistan are  BR90 and BR99.
